How to Test Your Acid Reflux: See if You Have Too Little or Too Much Hydrochloric Stomach Acid

Most people misunderstand acid reflux. It is usually caused by a LACK of acid not too much. In fact, studies show acid production decreases all throughout adult life proving we all are probably low on stomach acid and there are not tons of kids with acid reflux when our acid levels are highest. To see if you are low, try the following test. To perform the test, do the following:

Step 1: Buy some Betaine HCL with Pepsin

Step 2: Eat a high protein meal of at least 6 ounces of meat. Chicken or beef is fine.

Step 3: In the middle of the meal, take 1 Betaine HCL pill (750mg)

Step 4: Finish your meal as normal and pay attention to your body.

Step 5: Repeat the next day at the same meal with the same food.

Two outcomes from this test:

1. The first is that you won’t notice anything. As you go about your normal life after the meal, nothing will change. This means it is very likely you have low stomach acid levels.

2. If, as you go about your normal life, you start to feel stomach discomfort characterized by heaviness, burning, or hotness – then these are signs that you have adequate stomach acid levels.
