6 Things To Look Out For That Big Pharma Is Hiding From You
Share
Does Big Pharma make your supplements? This is a question that you want to make sure you know the answer to.
I’m going to give you the answer, plus six things you should be looking for when looking at the ingredient label on your supplements.
Let’s take a look at some of the common supplements that millions of Americans take. One A Day is a popular supplement, and it’s made by Bayer. Bayer is the same company that makes the aspirin that’s causing so many stomach ulcers, kidney failures, and liver failures.
Then you look at Centrum, Emergen-C, and Caltrate—all made by Pfizer. Pfizer currently has billions in lawsuits against them for harm caused to people, misjudgement, and misleading advertising to doctors. Do you trust their supplements to be high quality?
Nature Made is another popular supplement brand. It’s made by Zeca Ozuka, which is based out of Japan.
I see this stuff all the time. People constantly ask me, “Hey, is this a good one to take, should I be taking this one? What about this one?”
I want to help you empower yourself, to help you avoid taking supplements made by a pharmaceutical company. It’s not that they’re all incapable of making quality products, but all of them are going to be synthetic.
So what are the main ingredients you should be looking out for?The list can be found in my book, which you can grab for free. It’s an Amazon best seller, and part of the reason is because it makes issues like this so simple.
-
Rancid Oils
If there is oil inside of your supplement, you have to be very careful that it doesn’t get altered by things like sunlight and heat. If it is, it will quickly start to go rancid inside your system.
This is super important when it comes to fish oils, but if there is any other form of soybean oil or vegetable oil inside of your supplement, you should just stay away from it.
-
Heavy Metals
This one has to be tested, but if a company does care about avoiding metals like lead, mercury, and aluminum and tests for them. They will plaster that on the front of the bottle. That will tell you that they spent the money to do the testing and had a lab really look at it, and that there aren’t unsafe metals in the supplements.
-
Added, Artificial, and Hidden Sugar
We get way too much sugar. There’s a lot of different types of sugars that I see show up in supplements. If you look at, and you see high-fructose corn syrup, it’s out. This is why I don’t love vitamin gummies, because they’re just sugar and they contain very little of the nutrient that you’re trying to get. You can’t fit much into a gummy.
We want to be watching out for any sources of excess sugar. If it is like maltodextrin (a highly processed form of carbohydrates), it needs to be tapioca-based, not corn-based. If there’s any kind of glucose, you want to stay away from it.
Allulose and Cellulose are different, but stay away from the rest of them. This is all broken down in my book.
There’s even a challenge in the back of the book that makes it super simple to start implementing the lifestyle changes that you need on top of your supplements.
-
Artificial Colorings
Stay away from supplements with artificial colorings, including:
- FD&C Blue Nos. 1 & 2
- FD&C Green No. 3
- FD&C Red Nos. 3 & 40
- FD&C Yellow Nos. 5 & 6
- Caramel
-
Synthetic Vitamins
Understanding synthetic vitamins is a key part to making sure you’re buying the right ones.
Synthetic vitamins are created using chemical compounds that can’t be utilized by our bodies. This can be especially dangerous, because it can increase the buildup of fat in the liver.
-
Toxic Additives
Sodium benzoate is a big one, because benzoates are linked to types of cancers.
Titanium dioxide is highly toxic. It’s been shown to cause lung inflammation and to compromise the immune system, which no one needs right now.
Any and all forms of arsenic. You’re not going to know if that’s in the supplement, but it’s a carcinogen to watch out for.
Then there’s artificial colorings, flavorings, and dyes, which I mentioned before. If any of those are in there, then you’ll find it listed on the container.
The container should say that it doesn’t contain any of these things. That’s what you’re going to want to look for.
I have also put out a guide of what would be good to be taking based on the condition that you have.
Summary
If Bayer’s making your One A Day and Pfizer’s making your Centrum, then you have to be very leery of it and start to understand it as the consumer.
What is in this thing? What am I looking for? What do I need to completely avoid?
When I go to CVS or Walgreens, a lot of the stuff on the shelves is super toxic and made by companies that are just trying to get the production costs as low as they possibly can. They make large synthetic batches of non-food vitamins.
A lot of fillers like food colorings end up in there because of the way companies produce supplements so they don’t gum up the machines. They can make supplements faster, it’s more efficient so there’s less cost involved, and they can preserve it longer and use fillers to make it look better.
Disclaimer: I do have and make my own supplements.
Why? Because I couldn’t trust the stuff on the shelf that I’m giving to my kids. I need to make sure I know exactly what’s in it. And now I have that comfort and can test it to make sure nothing else shows up that I wasn’t aware of. I have to know this stuff for my family.
If you want a guide for this, I’ll send you the free book—just cover the shipping, that’s it.
It comes with the supplement guide inside of it, and also comes with a challenge to get you started.
I’ve seen so many cool results from people changing their own minds. We just equip them with the right knowledge, and that’s what starts to change it.
Now you know a bit more about supplements. Pass this on if it’s helpful and share it with someone that needs to know it. They might be taking garbage and spending their money on something that is synthetic and full of toxins, made by a pharmaceutical company.
Go make today a great day!
