Top 3 Tips To Balance Blood Sugar Naturally (Tips From a Naturopathic Doctor)
Share
If you want to lower your blood sugar naturally, here are three of my best tips that you can use.
As a doctor of natural medicine, I’ve seen type 2 diabetics and type 1 diabetics have incredible success with these three things.
1. Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar has acetic acid and blood-sugar lowering capabilities. Some studies show its effectiveness rivals the blood sugar medication Metformin, and can even be paired with Metformin to make a significant difference in blood sugar levels.
I recommend taking two tablespoons in the morning and two in the afternoon for 30-60 days. Following this schedule is a very good way to get your blood sugar under control naturally.
In terms of brands, I recommend Bragg’s. Bragg’s has ‘mother’ in it, which is the gooey stuff that floats around in the apple cider vinegar.
The mother is what provides probiotics, antioxidants, and blood sugar-lowering properties.
2. Rotational Fasting
Rotational fasting involves curbing consumption, and is one of my five main guidelines for clean eating.
Practicing rotational fasting will reset your metabolism so it can slowly go back down to where it’s supposed to be. Your sensitivity levels reset, and you can start to add consumption back into your diet.
I created a 24-week protocol on rotational fasting after hiring an insulin-specific researcher to walk me through the science of metabolism. We beat up our metabolism, and we become sensitive to insulin and sugar in the body, which creates fat.
Our broken metabolism is what’s creating diabetes and blood sugar problems. This is why we need to slowly reset it.
Intermittent fasting is also good for this, but you end up plateauing after a while.
3. Glucomannan
The konjac root, also known as glucomannan, significantly reduces the levels of fasting blood sugar.
I like to take a powdered form of glucomannan in my smoothies each day to help get my blood sugars in check, especially in the morning. A lot of times I put it right into my coffee, so I can get insulin-supporting organic coffee with glucomannan.
This is especially helpful to take when you’re curbing consumption, and even while taking apple cider vinegar. Unlike apple cider vinegar, glucomannan can be used on a daily basis over long periods of time.
It will help bind foods together, help control your cholesterol levels, and is very good for blood sugar. If you want to use the powder form that I use in my coffee, you can check it out here.
If you want to learn how to implement rotational fasting into your diet, and start to fix your broken metabolism, I made an entire training that can show you exactly how to do it.
