3. Cut the Toxins

The third “C” of nutrition is to Cut the Toxins. Let’s break down the top 10 extremely toxic foods for you, and start removing them today!

Dressings & Condiments

Check the ingredients of the condiments in your fridge. Chances are, they contain bad oil and added sugars. Check out the first video in this series if you need help deciphering what to look out for.

Candy

Well, duh! All sorts of candies are full of dyes & toxic sugars and are basically anti-nutrients for your body. Work on kicking that sugar addiction and try healthy sugar alternatives, like stevia-sweetened chocolate, instead.

Packaged Meat

Packaged meats are full of nitrites, which is an added preservative to make it look nice and pink, so you’ll buy more of it! Nitrites have been shown to increase the risk of pancreatic cancer by 67%1. So watch that lunchmeat and opt for nitrite-free, natural, organic meat

White Bread

White bread instantly turns to sugar in your body and throws you into sugar burning mode. It increases your risk of diabetes, weight gain, metabolic syndrome, blood pressure issues, and cholesterol issues. Manufacturers strip any natural nutrients out, and create a nice inflammation sandwich for you!

Sprayed Produce

Commercial produce has been coated with pesticides to keep insects away and push as much product as possible to market. Pesticides, like RoundUp, contain glyphosate which is a very toxic chemical to your gut (which houses your immune system). Monsanto (makers of RoundUp) lost a $250 million lawsuit proving that their pesticide caused terminal cancer2.

Margarine & Synthetic Butter

Margarine is heated to extremely high temperatures & bleached, and then color added to make it look inviting. If it doesn’t go bad when it sits out – it shouldn’t go in your body! All along, it’s advertised to be the “heart-friendly” alternative to butter. Instead, eat butter in its natural form, and make it a quality organic one.

Toxic Drinks

Diet” drinks, like diet soda or “sugar-free” beverages, you think are healthy are actually incredibly toxic. Aspartame, Nutrasweet, and Sweet & Low are considered neurotoxins that excite the neurons in your brain until they kill themselves! Be aware of other sugary drinks that you may have thought were healthy for you, but are just sweetened to make it taste good.

Stick with water – your body needs it! If you need carbonation, make it sparkling water and add a lemon or lime.

Genetically Modified Foods (GMO’s)

Eating food with altered DNA (or genetically modified) presents some risks to think about. These are crops that have been designed to be undamaged by pesticides, so that the chemicals kill the bugs, but not the crop. Consuming genetically modified food can cause neurological issues and throw the hormones off.

Commercial Dairy

You’re not what you eat, you’re what you eat ate. Commercial dairy cows are loaded with hormones & antibiotics. If that’s not bad enough, they are milked constantly, so they develop sores – which produce puss, which ends up in your milk! Instead of cows milk, opt for almond or coconut milk if you need a milk source.

Packaged Food

The packaged food within our grocery stores is also “packed” with different toxins, with the #1 being MSG. Monosodium glutamate (MSG) originated in Asia where it was used to enhance the taste of food, so you consume more of it! Doritos, Ramen noodles, Chinese food, etc. all contain MSG and sodium, which create neurotoxins for the brain and issues with allergies.
