2 Simple Home Remedies to Get Rid of Diarrhea Fast
Share
Are you struggling with things speeding up in your digestive tract? I’m going to go over 2 simple fixes that you can do at home fast.
Carob Powder With Water or Apple Sauce
Taking a tablespoon of carob powder with water is an effective natural remedy for reducing the amount of diarrhea that a person has.
Carob is loaded with tannins. Tannins have been shown to bind the bile salts that your gallbladder is releasing into your system. These bile salts break food down, which can potentially speed up your digestive tract—binding them can slow things down…
Tannins also soak up toxins in the gut and they help inhibit the growth of bad bacteria. You can find a carob at any health food store to help with diarrhea. Mix it with water, or with some apple sauce.
I don’t normally recommend applesauce because of the amount of sugar in it. We want to keep the sugar down, but if you’re struggling with diarrhea, you can make your own applesauce with the following steps:
- You can use either a whole or half apple. Peel the apple and chop it into pieces.
- Boil the pieces for 20 to 30 minutes. You can even add some cinnamon in there for taste.
- Mash up the apple. It should be easy since it’s boiled now.
- Mix the mashed apple with one tablespoon of carob powder.
Eating an apple without the skin on it gives you lots of soluble fiber, which is going to help absorb the liquid inside of the intestines.
Yogurt & Blackberries
Make sure the yogurt you use is from grass-fed cows. I don’t talk about yogurt very often because it introduces dairy to the diet and has a higher sugar content. However, for the sake of short-term diarrhea relief, this is an excellent food.
- Take ½ -1 cup of yogurt
- Mix it with ½ -1 cup of blackberries
- Blend them, and you can drink or eat it
Blackberries, like carob, are high in tannins. Those are going to help tighten the tissue inside the digestive tract. They’ve been shown to alleviate hemorrhoids and alleviate inflammation in the intestine that might be leading to diarrhea.
Mixing the blackberries with yogurt is going to provide some of the necessary bacteria. You can also use kefir to mix this blend.
Summary
These are two really easy ways to lower diarrhea. If you have consistently had diarrhea for longer than a few days, I wouldn’t recommend using these every single day. Instead, you want to get to the cause of the issue.
For long-term gut repair, I made a video to walk you through six steps of fixing your gut for reversing a problem like diarrhea or other gut issues. It also comes with a guide on how to do it.
