5 Must Do Steps to Get Rid of Candida
Share
Getting rid of candida or yeast problems in your body and keeping them away is vital to good health. I will give you the five things you must do to control candida.
History and Backstory of Candida and Yeast
Candida is a common type of fungus generally found in your mouth, intestines, and skin in small amounts.
While you need to have some candida in your body, it can cause an infection if it grows uncontrollably. Your body will spend all kinds of energy and immune reserves to fight it.
Too much candida depletes your immune system’s ability to fight it off, which can lead to the following symptoms:
-
Immune system function decline
-
A white-colored tongue
-
Skin that has a lot of itchiness to it, sores, or breakouts to it
-
Gaining weight without changing your diet
-
A lot of digestive distress, bloating, or gas
If this sounds like you, then I would take a good, hard look at how yeast balances within your body.
So how does candida build up in the body?
The obvious way, is a yeast infection. Another factor is reproductive system infections from too much yeast or candida built up, especially in the lower digestive tract near the reproductive area.
How do we get this under control?
If you’ve gone through constant yeast infections or urinary tract infections and always used antibiotics, you’ve made the candida buildup in your body worse, because antibiotics destroy the good bacteria.
The good bacteria keep candida in balance. So short-term, you get the result, but long-term, you make it worse. That’s a significant cause of how this goes down.
Imagine two armies at war in your body–one is the candida and yeast army, and the other is a bacterial army–good bacteria that the body needs.
If these 2 armies get out of balance (one army overeats, and one army is fed too little), there will be an overtaking and war inside your body. As a result, your immune system, digestive system, skin, and energy will suffer. So how do we straighten this out?
Five must-do steps
#1: No Lactose and Sugar
The number one must-do is you need to starve the candida army. We want some of the candida army there, but we’ve got to get them at bay. They feed off lactose and sugar, so we need to cut out all forms of dairy and carbohydrates that feed the candida army.
When I say all carbs–I mean everything:
-
Bread
-
Chips
-
Grains
-
Crackers
-
Fruits–outside of berries, Granny Smith apples, and grapefruits
All the higher glycemic fruits are feeding that army. So dairy, refined sugar, and carbs have got to go, and they are the primary fuel for the fungal candida army.
#2: Biotics
The number two must-do is to strengthen the bacteria in our body. These are called probiotics, also known as your good bacteria. There are three types of Biotics that are crucial for this army:
-
Probiotics
-
Prebiotics
-
Postbiotics
Fermented foods are packed with probiotics. You want to feed your body with foods like sauerkraut, pickles, and kombucha (be careful of the sugar content in your kombucha), and Kefir.
Stay away from yogurt, because it has dairy and sugar, which feeds the wrong army.
We want fermented foods going into our system because the fermented food itself will be heavy in prebiotics. Prebiotics are food for the bacteria and the army already inside you trying to fight off these candida invaders.
It will also add more soldiers and more reinforcements in probiotics. Fermented foods are high in them, and it’s going to help enhance things once the soldiers get fed and once we have more of them.
Postbiotics are what probiotics excrete and produce. Postbiotics are things like cellulase enzymes. Cellulase enzymes released by probiotics break down the cell walls and destroy candida, which is fantastic.
Fermented foods are a great source, or you can easily get all 3 in my biotics blend.
#3: Coconut Oil
The number three must-do is to feed the body coconut oil, because coconut oil will reinforce this army.
Coconut oil has two acids called caprylic acid and lauric acid.
Caprylic acid destroys the cell lining of these yeast cells, and lauric acid, AKA monolaurin, strengthens the immune system, which will improve your defense system.
So coconut oil, organic and unrefined, is what I’d recommend.
#4: Apple Cider Vinegar
The number four must-do is apple cider vinegar.
Apple cider vinegar is an antifungal, and just two tablespoons twice a day will help to suppress that army. While you could drink the two tablespoons straight, some recipes can help with ACV consumption.
So we are dropping bombs on that candida army and knocking it down. We cut off their food supply and strengthen the bacteria army against it.
Now we’re doing missiles and bombs that we’re getting with coconut oil and apple cider vinegar, but there is one final ingredient to help take down the candida army.
#5 Oregano Oil
Oregano oil inhibits candida growth, so it won’t allow that army to multiply and replenish itself.
I usually take it in a capsule form rather than straight oil, because that oil is potent tasting.
I mix it with monolaurin or lauric acid to get an extra boost to the immune system, but oregano is another potent destroyer of that candida army.
Summary
In summary, five things must happen to get rid of candida:
-
Go on a sugar fast and cut the dairy
-
Get fermented foods in and feed the prebiotics, probiotics and postbiotics inside of your body
-
One or two tablespoons of coconut oil a day to get caprylic and lauric acid
-
Two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar a day to get the antifungal effect
-
100-500mg of oregano oil or as directed on the container
Candida can be a severe problem for many people, but the proper steps can lead to better management. By understanding what reduces and eliminates candida in the body, you can improve the body’s overall health.
