The Best Water For You That You’re Not Drinking
Share
Did you know that there are multiple types of water? Believe it or not, not all water is created equal.
In fact, the type of water you drink can have a big impact on your overall health and well-being.
So, what are the different types of water, and which one is right for you? Keep reading to find out!
There are three main P’s to consider when it comes to choosing your water.
- Purity
- pH
- Power
How to Choose Pure Drinking Water
The first thing you should look for in water is that it doesn’t contain any chemicals or toxicity.
The Environmental Protection Agency has been providing resources so that you’re able to check what’s in your tap water.
You can go to your city’s website and look up the testing that they do for their water purity. You can also check out this site, which lets you search your city’s tap water and what kind of contaminants you can find in it.
You are 70% water. You have to be getting clean, pure water into your body in order to build up.
Where do you start?
Everyone can begin with some level of purification.
Get A Water Filter
Whether it’s a filter on your water bottle, fridge, sink, or pitcher, adding a filter to your water source is a great way to start improving your water.
The fridge filter is very common and is something I recommend for removing chlorine, microbes, and heavy metals from your water.
Drink Bottled Water
Bottled water has its advantages, but it can be hard on the environment, contain microplastics, and be lying about its contents.
If it comes in a plastic bottle, chances are, some of that plastic is ending up in you when you drink it. There was a study done with almost 500 different water bottle brands purchased at different locations. 93% of the brands contained high levels of these microplastics.
The chemicals in the water get into your body, then your liver and your gut, and if the water isn’t pure, your body has trouble processing it.
One of the chemicals found in some bottled waters is phthalates, which mimic hormones inside your body. Phthalates mess with your estrogen levels (especially in men), increase stress and increase weight and fat gain.
The purity of bottled water has to be taken into consideration when choosing the right option for you and your family. Also, try to get your water in glass bottles instead of plastic if you can to avoid ingesting microplastics and creating plastic waste.
Water Filtration
Reverse osmosis is a filtration process that utilizes a permeable barrier to remove contaminants from water. Although it removes toxins, the barrier also prevents you from getting healthy minerals from the water as well.
Instead of reverse osmosis, I recommend surface-area filtration, which is the best way to filter your water. You are using a surface that detoxes and pulls toxins out of the system.
The best part is, healthy minerals found in water such as magnesium, chloride, zinc, and calcium, are not toxic, so they don’t get pulled out of the water. This keeps the power of your water while getting rid of contaminants.
You can get these installed in your house on your countertop or throughout your entire house. I chose to have surface filtration installed throughout my house because I can rest easy knowing that the water my family uses is clean.
Your body absorbs 25% of the water that hits your skin in the shower, so it’s important to make sure all of the water in your house is filtered.
This filter system will take out fluoride and chlorine, both of which are linked to cancer if ingested long-term.
What Level pH Is Best For Water?
To understand pH more, I created this scale to help you understand why the amount of pH you have in your body is important.
Red is the lowest, which has no alkalinity and is completely acidic which would kill you. Purple, the highest and most alkaline on the pH scale, would also kill you.
As an organism, you are in the green, 7 pH. Research shows that cancer can’t survive in an oxygenated environment (high pH). Cancer likes acidity, which means we want our bodies to be more alkaline, around a 7 or 8.
Water is a huge part of pH. I made a video on testing the pH of popular bottled water brands, so you can understand which ones you should be drinking.
Below is a scale of the pH of branded water usually sits at:
- 4 – Store brands
- 5-6 – Brands like Dasani/Aquafina
- 7 –Distilled – There are no minerals in this water, useful for detoxification.
- 7-8 – Spring Water (Fiji) – Spring water is going to be the best for you, because it’s tested as the highest purity, and has a high alkaline level.
- 10 – Alkaline Water – Just because this has a high level of pH, doesn’t mean it’s good for you. The power of alkaline water is very low.
Drink High Powered Water for Better Absorption
There is high-energy water and low-energy water. If you consume deadened water (low energy), you’re asking for less energy and more problems.
Things that decrease the energy of water include:
- Lowering the pH
- Removing Minerals
- Distilling
If you experience any of the following symptoms, it’s a sign that you don’t have enough minerals from the water you drink:
- Dry Eyes
- Dry Sinus
- Dry Skin
Your body can’t absorb deadened water, which is why everything is drying out.
Things that increase the energy of water include:
- Iodize/increase pH – If you use a machine to raise pH, it can deaden the water. Look for ways to raise the pH of your water naturally.
- Minerals/Greens – Adding minerals like magnesium, zinc, potassium, and calcium will help you absorb more water. If you’re looking for an easy way to get this in, my greens powder helps you absorb and take in water at the same time.
- Motion (Structured) – Adding motion to your water adds energy. Would you rather drink water out of a stagnant pond or a running spring? You can swirl your water, or stick to spring water. Spring water comes from a source of motion, which is going to give it more power.
Summary
To get the best water I recommend the following steps:
- Choose a filtration system
- Stick to bottled spring water, get it in a glass container if possible
- Reverse osmosis removes a lot of purities, but include minerals and greens in your diet to make sure you’re getting the minerals you need.
- Utilize surface area filtration
Spring water is the best water that we can be putting into our bodies. We also want to avoid things that will remove the energy from water. Everything you drink should follow these criteria. If you want to understand more about the pH of water, and what’s in common with drinks you are taking in, check out the video I made that covers all of that here.
