The Key To All-Day Success: Why You Should Eat The Toad First
Share
An old principle I learned from a book years ago is to “Eat the toad first.”
What the heck does that mean?
There are things on your objective list that you’re not that excited to do. For me, that’s doing a workout.
Once I get into it, I love it, but beforehand it’s much easier to skip it or make excuses to get out of doing it.
This is why you should eat the toad first.
That means doing the ugly, slimy, nasty thing that you don’t want to do, just like you’d never want to eat a toad, early in the day.
Some of you might not be able to do this because of your schedule, but the earlier that you can get this stuff done, the better the rest of your day will be.
What’s the number one thing that brings happiness to humans? Progress.
So set yourself up to win the day by making a little progress early on.
If you get your workout in, your meals prepped, and your tasks scheduled by 9 a.m., how’s the rest of your day going to go?
So eat the toad first, because that success will give you such a surge. Little wins every day are what create massive momentum.
