2 DIY Drinks That Will Help You Shred The Summer Pounds!
Share
If you want to keep the pounds off during the summer, you may want to add one of these two detox drinks to your diet.
Detox Water
I recommend storing your ingredient(s) in a big jug of water for 4-6 hours. Detox water can be made with a variety of immune system-building ingredients:
1. Ginger
Ginger decreases inflammation, stimulates digestion, is very good for bloating and detoxing, and will suppress your appetite.
First, shave the ginger root. I like to put big chunks of it in the water, but you can chop it up finer if you prefer. You can also add a teaspoon of grated ginger.
2. Cucumbers
Cucumbers help get fluid in your body and promote hydration by keeping the water actually in the system.
I suggest adding at least half of a cucumber to your water.
3. Lemon
Lemon helps you stay full, aids in detoxification, speeds up your metabolism and has a lot of vitamins and nutrients in it. When you’re drinking your water, you could add this at any time, even if you don’t want to add cucumber or ginger.
I suggest adding an entire sliced lemon to the water.
4. Mint
Mint stimulates your digestive enzymes and is going to help you break down food more efficiently, which means you’re going to absorb food and eliminate it better. That’s gonna help with detoxing, as well as metabolism.
I wouldn’t muddle the mint, since you’re soaking it overnight, but make sure it’s freshly ripped.
Apple Cider Vinegar
There’s very good research showing that two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar twice a day for 2-8 weeks can give you an insulin-lowering effect. It’s also very effective at lowering your metabolism.
If you want to lose weight, you need to get your insulin under control. Two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar a day will do that.
There are several ways that you can get apple cider vinegar in your diet:
Straight Up
You can drink it straight up. Try not to do this long term, because the acidity will damage the enamel of your teeth. Most people can’t do it straight up because it’s bitter, so they dilute it with water.
Mixed With Powder
First, mix two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar with water to dilute it. There are several powders that would be good in this drink. I prefer using vitamin C powder. A lot of these powders are flavored. You can do half a scoop or a whole scoop.
You’re going to be getting the collagen-building benefits of vitamin C, which are going to help with your skin and with detoxification. You could also put in electrolyte powder, or greens.
My mother and father-in-law actually have apple cider vinegar with their greens and have that in the morning. It’s very alkaline and is going to help your digestion, digestive enzymes, and probiotics.
Sparkling Water
Spindrift is a good option for sparkling water because there are no natural flavors in it. It’s actually fruit juice, so we’re getting the benefits of lemon that we just talked about.
I suggest mixing the sparkling water with the two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. You’re masking the intense taste of apple cider vinegar, while still getting the benefits from it.
You can also add a squirt of lemon juice to further suppress the apple cider vinegar taste.
Summary
There are some great summer detox drinks for giving you a good summer feeling and helping you lose the pounds. You can have these drinks multiple times a day. I also have some resources that will help make health simple. Remember: you’re the solution.
