You’re Not Eating Enough Vegetables—5 Benefits You’re Missing Out On
Share
Most people don’t get enough vegetables for what their body needs each day. Only 9% of Americans even claim to get 1-1 ½ cups of vegetables, which is the CDC-recommended amount.
Not eating enough vegetables has major health impacts that are affecting your quality of life.
In this blog, I discuss 5 benefits of eating enough vegetables.
1. Increased Energy
Vegetables give your body the energy that it needs. They’re nutritious and provide enzymes, nutrients, and minerals that help boost your health.
If you feel worn down and don’t have enough energy throughout the day, chances are, you’re not getting enough vegetables.
2. Decreased Cravings
If you find yourself constantly craving carbohydrate-rich foods and sugar, it’s because your body is trying to get more nutrients so it can function.
If you’re not eating vegetables in between or alongside carb-heavy foods, you’re going to have these constant cravings.
3. Increased Weight Loss
There’s no better way to increase weight loss than eating a lot of green, healthy food.
Some fruits contain a lot of sugar, so be careful of that, but vegetables will flush body fat out of your system.
4. Constipation
If you’re not having daily bowel movements, that’s a sign that there’s a problem with your digestive system. If you’re eating 1-3 meals daily, you should be having at least 1-2 bowel movements a day.
If you want to fix that constipation, I recommend eating more vegetables and fiber, which will get your system moving again.
5. Detoxification
If you have a pulse right now, chances are, your body is already toxic. This is why it’s always a good idea to detox your body from time to time.
Vegetables are going to drive that toxicity out of your system. This is easier said than done; getting the amount of vegetables your body needs each day can be hard to do.
This is exactly why I use my greens powder, which provides more than 15 servings of vegetables and contains 54 different minerals and nutrients. With just one scoop, you get a bit of each of the following organic vegetables:
These are going to detoxify your body, supercharge your cells, crank up your energy, and amplify your weight loss.
Only 9% of people in the US get the amount of vegetables they should each day, which means 290 million people are missing out on their benefits.
Best Ways To Get Vegetables In
If we’re not getting vegetables in, we need to start fixing that.
I have a couple of vegetable recipes here that will make your vegetables taste delicious and help you look forward to eating them:
- Green beans with salt, pepper, and butter
- Steamed broccoli
- Broccoli salad—you can add apple cider vinegar or mayo for flavor
- Cauliflower pizza, rice, or potatoes
If you get these ingredients and you’re worried that they’ll go to waste, you can always freeze them and drop them into a smoothie.
Smoothies are an easy way to get more vegetables in, and you can even mask their taste with protein powder or fruit.
You can also juice vegetables to make your own green juice at home.
I highly recommend doing a juice cleanse at least once a month, which green juice is great for, and I made a video that can help you start your very first juice cleanse.
