The 4 Crucial Steps To Overcoming Migraines

How to Stop Migraines

What do you do when you’re suffering from migraines or headaches? I’ve had family members, like my mother-in-law, deal with these kinds of issues and I know how much it can affect your daily life. Most migraine and headache medications come with great risks. Medications like Imitrex or Effexor increase the user’s stroke risk by up to 10 times! It alters the blood flow, obviously for the brain, which can cause strokes. In this article, I’m going to show you how to stop migraines naturally and without risking harmful medications.

4 Crucial Steps for Stopping Migraines Without Medication

I love my mother-in-law, and I didn’t want to risk taking harmful medications to stop her migraines. Below are the 4 steps we’ve taken to deal with her migraines while avoiding medications.

1. Lifestyle Changes

There are many different things that can trigger a migraine, including:

  • Bad food
  • Built up toxicity
  • Allergies
  • Viruses
  • Poor blood flow
  • Not exercising
  • Compromised immune system

Imagine your migraine as a bucket – all of the above can cause the bucket to fill up, which would trigger the migraine.

In order to stop the migraines, we have to drain the bucket. How do we do this? Simple changes to your nutrition might be the biggest factor.

It doesn’t matter if you follow a vegetarian, keto, paleo, or carnivore diet. There are specific guidelines everyone should follow for proper nutrition, which I cover in detail in my book.

2. Movement

We’ve got to get our bodies moving because that’s going to optimize blood flow.

  1. Focus on 10-minute workouts  – These workouts can be done at home, and are done using body weight, which is good if you’re inconsistent and can’t go to the gym much.
  2. Frame exercises for rehabbing – These simple exercises will help you check the ligaments at the top of your head that keep your head from turning all the way around.

3. Sleep and posture aids

I recommend our cylindrical foam rolls cylindrical foam rolls that are placed behind the neck while sleeping. This will help to form a C-shaped curve in your neck because a healthy neck needs a 45-degree arch in it.

You can also wrap these around your chair at work, towards your lower back. This will push lumbar support into your lower back and keep you upright while you work.

I would also recommend getting a standing desk, which will help straighten your neck and back.

4. Nutrients

Omegas & turmeric help knock down inflammation in the body. Taking 1500 milligrams of omegas & turmeric, or four of my omega turmeric, would be equivalent to taking an Aspirin, Advil, or Motrin to reduce pain.

This won’t always knock out a migraine, but it will help reduce the symptoms.

Most of the time, we’re missing simple nutrients, like magnesium, which leads to headaches. We can replenish nutrients like these by consuming more electrolytes.

A good source of these can be found in my Energyze powder, which contains a high dose of vitamin C, which is also going to help out your blood vessels. It also contains taurine and D-Ribose, which are two of the best things for your heart and blood flow.

Drinks like soda and Gatorade are full of sugar and are the opposite of a healthy lifestyle. Instead, try substituting it for Energyze, which is like a healthy version of Gatorade, where you get your electrolytes without the sugar.
